How Exact Age Is Calculated

Your exact age is more than just "current year minus birth year". This calculator counts complete calendar years since your birth, then complete months since your last birthday, then the remaining days — the same method used on official documents worldwide.

Age = Complete Years + Complete Months + Remaining Days

Example: born 15 March 2000, checked on 18 August 2026 → 26 complete years (last birthday 15 March 2026), 5 complete months (to 15 August), 3 remaining days = 26 years, 5 months, 3 days.

Leap years handled automatically

Because the calculator walks real calendar dates, leap days are counted correctly. Born on 29 February? Your age still advances every year — most people celebrate on 28 February or 1 March in non-leap years.
